Angeles Dueñas

Angeles Dueñas, Owner/General Manager, moved to Houston from Madrid, Spain in 1980.

While teaching Spanish at the Berlitz school, she decided to try the restaurant business and immediately fell in love with the hospitality and vibrant social scene of 1980’s Houston. Her career has spanned over 30 years, including 18 years of management with the Cordua Group – Churrascos, Americás and Artista. Following her passion and knowledge of wine, she obtained the Certified Sommelier status from London’s Court of Master Sommeliers. In 2012, Angeles launched Costa Brava Bistro in Bellaire which fulfilled a life-long dream of bringing fine-dining Spanish cuisine to Houston.

Kitty Bailey

Kitty Bailey, Owner/Executive Chef, is a native of Houston, Texas.

Kitty’s career began at age 18 in New Orleans while attending Tulane University and working nights at Fat Harry’s on St. Charles Avenue. She continued working in restaurants and live music venues while completing a degree in Film at UT Austin. After graduating and living in London for a year, she returned home to Houston and the restaurant business. Although a front of the house manager at Cent’anni, La Mer, Café Annie and Abuso Catering Co., Kitty always had one foot in the kitchen. In opening Costa Brava Bistro, she fulfilled a long-held dream of becoming a professional chef.
